What does "The Abomination of Abandonment" mean ?
"The Abomination of Abandonment" has been incorrectly described as "the Abomination of Desolation" by various Bible translations.
Both the Latin and the Greek translation of the original text leave no doubt about this!
The prophet Daniel mentions "The Abomination" in the 70-week prophecy and this is associated with the end times, "the Tribulation" and the Antichrist(AC).
According to the book of Maccabees (1 Mack.1,58), this "Abomination" is an altar of burnt offering.
However, according to Jewish tradition, these are 2 different altars of burnt offering!
It concerns a altar of dedication that was placed on the Mount of Olives, which served to cleanse the Temple, as well as the temple servants.
The other altar was placed in the forecourt of the Temple on which all kinds of animals were sacrificed.
Antiochus IV as well as the Roman emperor Titus deliberately defiled the altar of burnt offering in the forecourt of the Temple.
The Abomination of Abandonment, simply "the Abomination", is also mentioned by Christ in Matthew 24 and Mark 13.
Again, it is associated with a series of end-time disasters and events prior to the period called the "Tribulation."
One of the signs that Christ mentions is the becoming visible of "the Abomination", so that altar of burnt offering.
We suspect, however, that there is a time difference between Daniel's "Abomination" and Christ's.
This is only possible if the successive events (called "signs" in the Bible), as indicated by Christ, are chronological !
The becoming visible of "the Abomination" will then take place earlier than the commissioning of it, as described by the prophet Daniel!
The becoming visible could indicate the sacrifice of a red heifer as the prelude to the burnt offering, which will be brought by AC.
This burnt offering denies that the Son of God (Jesus Christ) became man and sacrificed himself for our sins!
That is exactly the spirit of the Antichrist (1 John 4:3).
The prophet Daniel places "the Abomination" (the altar of burnt offering), used by the Antichrist, halfway (= 42 months) after the start of the Tribulation.
The beginning of the 7-year period of the "Tribulation" with the Antichrist, begins with the opening of the 7th Seal by Christ.
These events are described in the chapter " the Seventh Seal".
The "Abomination" that Christ describes would then take place much earlier, possibly even before the opening of the Sixth Seal!
The "Abomination" initiates the period of "the Great Tribulation", a period immediately preceding the opening of the 6th Seal!
The period of "the Great Tribulation" and the period of "the Tribulation" are 2 different time periods and each have different characteristics!
A possible sequence of events scenario
Is our guess of the chronology of events correct, as described by Christ in Matthew 24?
The following will then take place in the course of history, after the death, resurrection and ascension of Christ:
1. Many shall come in my name and say, I am the Christ, and they shall deceive many.
2. Thou shalt hear of wars and of rumors of wars.
3. Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be famines and earthquakes now here, then there.
4. They will deliver you up to tribulation and they will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake.
5. Many will fall and they will betray one another and hate one another.
6. Many false prophets shall arise and many shall they deceive.
7. The lawlessness will increase, it will cool the love of most, but he who endures to the end will be saved.
8. This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
9. When you therefore see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place, where it doesn't belong - let him who reads it give
take heed - then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
Could it be that both altars are put in the wrong place ?
10. For then there will be Great Tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall be.
11. Unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
12. If therefore any man say to you, behold, here is the Christ, or, here, believe it not.
For false christs and false prophets shall arise, and they shall perform great signs and wonders, that, if it were possible, they should deceive the very elect.
These figures cause the actual spiritual pressure in the world !
13. If therefore they say to you, Behold, he is in the wilderness, go not there; behold, He is in the inner room, believe it not.
For as the lightning comes from the east and shines to the west, so will the coming of the Son of man be.
14. The Bible translation of the Vulgate now continues with the text: "And wherever the body shall be, there the eagles shall gather."
We suspect that this text refers to the 1st Rapture of the true Christians! See the chapter: "the Rapture".
Those who seek the Christians arrive too late, they have been taken away with body and soul in a split second!
This is confirmed by Luke chapter 17 verses 24 and 37.
These texts confirm that the Rapture will take place during a worldwide Christian persecution.
15. Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light.
The stars will fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
This last event corresponds to the description of the opening of the 6th Seal by Christ!
We have summarized the opening of the 6th Seal in the chapter " the Sixth Seal".
Our conclusion regarding "The Abomination"
The "Abomination" will become visible before the 6th Seal is opened by Christ.
Most likely also before the 1st Rapture of the Christians will take place.
The altar of burnt offering was in the courtyard of the Jewish Temple and the altar of dedication placed on the Mount of Olives.
Now what can take place in the near future regarding these altars?
Could it be that somewhere a desecrated altar of burnt offering will be placed first, even with a papal blessing ?
Can this action by the Pope contribute to the opening of the 6th Seal?
Will not a group of traditional Jews, who do not recognize the New Testament and Christ and want to build the Temple, pave the way for the Antichrist?
The traditional sacrificial service that these Jews are going to hold is contrary to the sacrificial death of Christ and contrary to God's will!
Is this also a pure provocation to the Muslims, because in their view their shrines on the Temple Mount will be desecrated ?
Undoubtedly, an intifada will break out in Israel, because the Muslims will not accept this provocation.
Is that why those who are in Judea, after the manifestation of this "Abomination", have to flee to the mountains?
Will this also have a huge negative impact on peace around the world and lead to large-scale terror attacks and chaos?
It will eventually be a perfect opportunity for the Antichrist to reveal himself to the world!
